Let The Christmas Season Begin!

Nana and Grandpa came to visit this weekend, and the visit was action packed!  We started off Friday evening by decorating the tree.

So happy to help!

Saturday morning started off bright and early!  We read Leah's new story "The Elf on the Shelf".  It's all about an elf that visits from the North Pole and reports back to Santa every night about how Leah is behaving.  She named her elf "Elfie" (hey, she is only barely 2), and has been half excited, half paranoid about him being here.  This morning, she would eye him suspiciously while she was playing.  It was a hoot!

After getting everyone ready, we headed out to the trains at Northpark!

Trains are super fun!

Look up amazement and wonder in the dictionary...you'll see this picture of Leah's eyes!

Having a great time with Daddy
After Leah finally fell asleep and got a little nap, we opened gifts from Nana and Grandpa.
An Elmo ornament!

This is a book of "The Night Before Christmas" from Nana.  She recorded herself reading the story, so everytime Leah opens the book, Nana reads to her!  How cool!
On Sunday, we visited Santa.  We knew it was up in the air whether or not Leah would sit with him.  We prepped her all day about sitting with him and telling him what she wanted for Christmas.  All day, she said she wanted to do it.  Then, of course, we got there and she freaked out.  It was finally our turn and she and I walked up together.  Santa was so nice!  He gave her a coloring book and coaxed her into sitting with him.  He asked if she liked dolls and Leah said yes.  He asked if she liked Dora dolls and Leah said yes.  I hope Santa pulls through Christmas morning!  :)

All in all, it was a fantastic weekend, and Leah is worn out!  If the weekend is just a taste of what the Christmas season will be this year, it's going to be a great one!
