As the summer began, we knew we wanted to head down to San Antonio for a few days with Leah. Since all of my mom's side of the family is there, we go down frequently, but just for quick overnight trips. It always seems too fast. So, we found a week that worked to stay a few nights, and we were off!
We started off with a day at Sea World. I remember going as a kid, but it has changed so much! We started off at the dolphins.
The dolphins were more interested in lunch than swimming by us, so it was off to see Shamu! We had only been there about an hour, but we were already hot and sweaty, so it was nice to sit down for a bit. Leah watched the whales swim around the tank before the show started.
Little did she know, the whales would do a lot more than swim! She liked when they jumped out of the water, and was glad we didn't sit in the "splash zone". :)
Leah did not nap that day, so it was an early bedtime for her that night. The next morning, we went down to the Riverwalk to see the sights.
We had lunch outside, where we spent much of our time watching the boats go by and shooing off some very persistent birds from our table. :) In the afternoon, we went out to my grandpa's house "in the country". He lives in an area that used to be nothing but trees and hills, but it has really been built up since the last time I went out there. We had to take pictures in the "family" tree. This tree has been growing over his deck since I was a little girl, and all of the grandkids have their picture taken in it. Now it was Leah's turn!
We also fed the deer that run around the neighborhood. They came right up on the deck to eat watermelon, and brought the babies with them!

Exploring with Daddy
We had a great time in San Antonio! It was so wonderful to not be rushed to see family and visit. Next time, Molly, we'll get her on a horse! :)
